WTSD has identified a need to enhance the skills of job seekers and fill in gaps in their competencies that may be inhibiting their opportunity to gain meaningful employment. This has led to the development of a training course that we believe is an essential requirement for people wishing to work in the Construction Industry

The Civil Construction "Essentials" covers the following topics:
- Manual Handling
- Construction Terminology
- Types of Construction & Equipment
- Work Activity Induction for Civil Construction
- Employability Skills in the Construction Industry
- Site Specific Induction
- Plan Reading
- Field Surveying
- Set out Task
- Construct a task in the field
Qualifications
This week long course combines theory and practical instruction to provide participant with invaluable knowledge, hands on experience and formal qualifications that will assist which employment in this area. On completion of the course participant receive a Statement of Attendance, Blue for Work Activity Induction and the top four students will have their details passed on the potential employers and Labour Hire Company’s.
